Robert (Bob) Armstrong, BSc, MD, MSc, PhD, FRCPC

Chief, Pediatric Medicine, BC's Children's Hospital and BC Women's Hospital.

Dr. Armstrong is Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Pediatrics, University of British Columbia and Chief, Pediatric Medicine at BC Children's Hospital and BC Women's Hospital, Provincial Health Services Authority. Dr. Armstrong joined the Division of Developmental Pediatrics at UBC in 1987.

His clinical work is with children who have physical disabilities and his research interests are in better understanding the factors that influence the development of children and the impact that disability has on development. Dr. Armstrong is currently a faculty member and previously Director of the Centre for Community Child Health Research within the Child and Family Research Institute. He is President of the Pediatric Chairs of Canada, Co-Chair of the National Coalition of Child and Youth Health, past President of the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine and Chair of the Steering Committee for the BC Children's Hospital Centre for International Child Health.

Dr. Armstrong holds a BSc from Simon Fraser University, and an MD, MSc, and PhD in Human Growth and Development and Developmental Pediatrics from McMaster University, where he also did fellowship work.
