April 2-3, 2009 - Harbour Tower Hotels - Victoria, BC

Co-sponsored by CYHRNet and the Centre for Youth and Society, this two-day event was an exciting opportunity for researchers, service agencies and all those with an interest in youth resilience.

The event featured keynote speaker Dr. Marc Zimmerman, Chair of the Department of Health Behavior & Health Education in the School of Public Health at the University of Michigan as well as a variety of other speakers. It also featured claymation videos produced by the youth of the Aboriginal Next Steps Project. It's Not Too Late!

This conference, a product of a huge collaborative undertaking between the Centre for Youth & Society and CYHRNet, was a wonderful opportunity for researchers, frontline workers, policymakers and all those interested in adolescent health to network, share ideas and learn more about adolescent resilience and empowerment.

Over 150 participants attended and presentations were given by a variety of researchers, agencies serving youth and Aboriginal communities and, perhaps most importantly, youth themselves.
